Caerlorn is a world of extremes. Thanks to an abundance of magic and its effects on the environment, the world possesses great beauty as well as terrible darkness. Who is immune to such awe-inspiring sights as the mountainous ice floes of the Crystal Sea or the spectacular rimepines of the Marches of Starfall? On the other hand, who can withstand the horrific majesty of the lava rivers of Norgalth or the shattered blight of the Wastes of Nallaag? North or south, east or west, Caerlorn contains natural wonders undreamed of on other worlds.
Looking up into the night, one can see the twin moons of Nethys charting a golden path across the sky. Beyond it, the thirteen constellations rule the stars, guiding the words of fortune tellers and scientists alike as the various races learn of their place in the universe.
Seas and oceans separate the continents. The heart of the world, at least for humans, is Caerlorn. All the common races can be found on this continent, full of mighty nations and kingdoms that have grown for years after the Shattering. The continent of Zalatar is Caerlorn’s neighbor to the southwest. Many of the other continents of the world are still mysteries to the majority of the inhabitants of Caerlorn, though brave explorers still seek to learn of the lands about them, or search for such wondrous lost continents as Dyvaria.
